Is the membership really available at no additional cost?
That depends on which program you are eligible for under your insurance plan. There are no sign-up or monthly fees for membership in the SilverSneakers Fitness Program, but there may be an annual fee to participate in the Silver & Fit Program depending on what your insurance policy requires.
Are there any additional charges?
If you stay within the limits of a basic membership, there are no additional charges. However, if you request any services that are not included in a “basic” membership for a regular member, an additional charge will be added. For example, personal training will cost extra and are only available if you want to pay an extra fee.
What are the SilverSneakers® / Senior Classes?
The SilverSneakers® classes are total body conditioning classes designed to increase muscular strength, endurance, range of movement, flexibility, balance, agility and coordination. Our classes are an hour in length and are offered several times a week. Classes are taught with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball. A chair is available for students to use for seated or standing support.
Classes are taught by DeDe Howie and Heather Teigen under the direction of Fit for Life owner, Sheila Rolling.
What do I need to know about starting an exercise program?
- Wear comfortable clothing and rubber-soled shoes (sneakers)
- Have a water bottle with you and drink often.
- Remember to listen to your body.
- It is OK to slow down and rest.
Strength and range of movement benefits are the focus of this creative multi-level conditioning exercise class designed for the senior population. This choreographed class uses hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball.

Senior Cardio Circuit
Take your workout to the next level with Senior Cardio Circuit! You’ll improve cardiovascular and muscular endurance through a standing workout that alternates upper body exercises with non-impact aerobic moves. Use of a stability ball and steps is included. A chair is offered for support, stretching and relaxation.

Class: Monday 9:45 – 10:45 am
This class will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and a final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.
